Born in Qinhuangdao, Hebei Province in 1964.
Graduated from the Central Academy of Fine arts Beijing in 1997
Now lives and works in Songzhuang Village, Beijing , P.R.CHINA
In our daily experiences, men do not need or scarcely use make-up, and little boys are even far from rouges. According to the experiences of our public education, only little girls become infected with rouges and make-up. Thus, after the artists change this kind of daily experience and custom, we will feel a sort of unintelligible emptiness, alienation, vagueness and absurdness. The feeling of dislocation is the impression of works of arts created by Mu Jun. The little boys bean to appear among works of art of Mu Jun from 2002-2008, which let us feel surprises that these little boys all take up brushes for make-up use and snicker for prettifying themselves by using all kind of exaggerating gestures. Due to imperfect features of human beings, people invent the art of make-up to change them; and because of distress and unsuccessful fulfillment in reality; human beings require Utopia and prettifying the reality and counterfeiting themselves. The make-up of little boys offers a interesting distress problem in real life.
