Heart Work Heroes sculpture will have its premier in Sweden during Helsingborg Art and Antique Fair during July 24-28, 2014.
The Heart Work Heroes were created by Herman Poort from the Netherlands. It is a tribute to the ¨People in Care¨. Often forgotten and undervalued, the Foundation wants to give a contribution and to highlight these people and at the same time make the next generation enthusiastic about care.
This is made to the HeartWorkHeroes Project foundation.
The Story behind
Heart Work Heroes, a social enterprise, was founded by Herman Poort. Just after the birth of his eldest daughter, his girlfriend turned out to have leukemia. In good spirits they entered the battle, but with two months the battle was fought and unfortunately not with a victory.
In seven months he had become a father and his daughter had lost her mother. What is in those two months, largely in the hematology department,
played has opened his eyes to healthcare workers.
What a special people- people. Unbelievable how they manage to make such a difficult time bearable and hopeful.
Since that time, the pressure on care has only increased, especially with the impact of corona.
This experience has led to Poort founding Heart Work Heroes, his way of giving something back. Colorful, positive and forward-looking.
In Rotterdam during 2022 there were an open-air parade of 30 different designed sculptures in 120 cm placed in different locations during a period of 3 weeks and thereafter they were auctioned off by a renowned Auction house. All were sold plus many others in 20 or 30 cm size and proceeds from the auction are used to support care. A success in Netherlands could easily be repeated in Sweden. Most the designs were made by Dutch artists.
Mission
Picture by image, we want to place the care on a pedestal. By creating attention for these heroes and by investing in information about working in healthcare, we are building a colorful future for healthcare
Vision
A healthcare that is really healthy, where a smile is the standard and where enough people can work from their hearts.
