Johannes Nielsen

Johannes Nielsen was born 1979 in Falkenberg, Sweden and graduated from the Art School in Lund 2003. He spent 2 years as an assistant for Patrick O’Reilly in Ireland. Here he got his inspiration and basic knowledge of sculpting. Since 2007 Johannes is based in Songzhuang, outside Beijing’s established community for artists and is inspired by the rich culture and history. He divides his time between China and Sweden where he has held several solo exhibitions.

His bronze sculptures feature often horses and human bodies and there is something timeless about his creations. Trees and wood is another inspiration source.
